A day workshop from 10am to 4pm (updated 6th August 2010)
Who:
For people who are thinking about working with Deaf people and clients who use signing or for those who simply want to have a fun conversation with their Deaf friends and colleagues
Content:
The tutor will concentrate on basic sign communication to enable delegates to introduce themselves to deaf people and also to make conversation. Topics may include (based on the needs of the group) fingerspelling skills, at work, time, diary, refreshment, transport and travel. This will a guided experiential workshop with some formal teaching, given exercises and guided activities. Participants will be expected to work in pairs, in small and large groups.
Date: Friday 3rd December 2010 and repeated on Friday 26th February 2011.
Time: 10am to 4pm
Where: Conway Hall (Holborn) London
Refreshments: Do bring your own lunch, or go to a local snack bar / cafe / restaurant.
Cost:
Full fee £90+ VAT
Self-funded £70 including VAT
