BSL Taster

BSL Taster workshop - a half day workshop from 10am to 12pm, 2:30pm to 4:30pm or in the evening from 6pm to 8pm - you choose!

Who will benefit from this course?
People who are thinking about working with Deaf people, have clients who use sign language or for those who simply want to have a fun conversation with their Deaf friends and colleagues.

The teacher will concentrate on basic sign communication to enable participants to introduce themselves to deaf people and make conversation. Topics may include (based on the needs of the group) fingerspelling skills, at work, time, diary, refreshments, transport and travel. This is a guided, experiential workshop with some formal teaching, exercises and guided activities. Participants will be expected to work in pairs and in small and large groups.
